first met Judy Goddard (Business Transformations Ltd) in November
2000, when she delivered a Sales Training seminar to our team at RadioWorks
in Canterbury. We were then offered the opportunity to work with Judy
on a one-to-one basis. I thought I didn’t need coaching – that it would be of no value to me. At this stage in my life I was a sales rep with the company, billing around $30k-$40k a month (average for our team then), and struggling with management and the industry itself (as you do). I look back now, and find it incredible that I thought I didn’t need help. How does anyone perform to the best of their abilities without a coach? And that’s it really – back then, I wasn’t performing anywhere near my potential – and somewhere inside, I knew there was a whole lot more life, and business success waiting for me. In October 2001, I reached a trigger point – I needed to decide whether or not to stay in the industry – and I started coaching with Judy. Judy helped me ‘unlock the keys to myself’, and face the limits I placed on myself, and made me realise the consequences of my thinking and my behaviours. What amazed me, was that inside I was aware of some of what held me back, and how that affected my performance – but I just kept doing nothing about it. I continued to see Judy for a year. I have personal ‘keys’ now that remind me of what I need to do for my best, and I use these every day. Throughout the year that I haven’t seen Judy, the learning still resonates, and I have to continued to grow and learn on my own. In February this year, I achieved a personal goal - and won the award for “Highest Biller of the Year”, for consistently billing over $100,000 a month. My work with Judy was critical to this success, and has overflowed into all areas of my life. This year I am returning to regular coaching with Judy, to learn how to perform in my life and business even more effectively and build a platform to springboard to the next level in my life’s journey.
